My BMW e36 Interior

The following are pictures of my BMW e36 interior. The picture on the right shows the switch for the headlights. The button next to the switch allows you to turn off the fog light.

The picture below shows the control for the air conditioner in the car, where temperature can be adjusted. Just below the AC control, the clock can also be easily ajusted to reflect the accurate time.

The picture above shows the window switch control plus the gear control. I am still unsure what the middle button is for and also the switches between S & M.

Hey nice E36! I dig the right hand drive action.... Anyway, to answer your question on the buttons and settings next to your gear selector- The button marked 'S' 'E' 'M' controls your transmission and engine speeds. For example if you set the switch to 'S' and the gear selector to 'D' your BMW will be in a 'Sport' mode and the engine will rev at a higher RPM and will make the most out of your first and second gears. It is good for racing ect.. If you switch to 'E' setting your BMW is now in 'Economy' mode and will set your engine and transmission to save you on fuel use/less emissions. And if you set the switch to 'M' mode the it will require you to manually shift your cars tranmission like it was a stick shift- that is where the 1,2,3 on your gear selector comes in.. if you set it to 'M' and put the gear shifter down to 1 then your BMW will stay in first gear until your push the gear shifter up to 2, then your BMW will be in second gear, then if you push to 3 you are in third gear and 'D' would be your fourth gear... If you leave your BMW in 'E' mode and you set your gear shifter for example to 3 your BMW will start off in first gear and then shift to second gear and then finally '3' third gear. This will not be the case if you set it to 'M' that setting will keep your transmission on whatever gear you select 1,2,3,or D(4)- do you see the difference between 'E' and 'M' when you are selecting gears manually.. You are just going to have to mess around with it to try to understand, or go to some E36 forum. Now the middle switch between your driver side window switch and drivers side rear window switch- this controls the rear window switch in the back seat, you can make it so if you have a child in the rear seat you can disable the switch for thier window so they cannot roll down the window and fall out.. I hope I didnt confuse you..
